The reality is?open houses succeed in selling a property only about 1% of the time. With such a low success rate, why would real estate Estate agents succumb to the pressure of holding open houses? Because it puts them face-to-face with prospective buyers who might be interested in a different price range. They might not sell your house through an open house but they do try to get buyers for other properties while they?re there! And often people inquiring about a property they see while driving by typically can?t afford that property; even if they are serious buyers, their eyes are often bigger than their wallets.With such a low success rate why do sellers allow their houses to be opened up to the unfiltered public? Other times, someone will unlock a window to make it easy for them to come back later and let themselves in. One of the reasons to list your house for sale with a professional is the added security of having a knowledgable real estate agent interview and qualify prospective buyers before they are turned loose in your house.
