horse racing packages - A Visit to Kentucky

Do you like watching horse racing? Are you a fan of the Kentucky Derby (also known as the Run for the Roses), the Preakness, or the Belmont Stakes? Are you looking for an unusual vacation? If you can answer yes to one or all of these questions, why not think about watching the Kentucky Derby live and in person as a part of your next vacation?

Several businesses offer horse racing packages, and some specialize in the Kentucky Derby. Premiere Sports Travel offers packages for the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, Belmont Stakes, Travers Stakes, and the Breeders Cup.

Bench Warmer Sports also offers premier event experiences including the Belmont Stakes in June 2012 and Breeders Cup Championship in November 2012. Other packages on offer include the Kentucky Derby in May 2013 and the Preakness Stakes in May 2013. The Belmont Stakes standard package includes 2 nights' accomodations, a Belmont Stakes ticket, daily breakfast, airport shuttle transfers, souvenir ticket protector, and Bench Warmer concierge services. The Belmont Stakes superior package includes everything that the standard package does plus a Broadway theater ticket, and this package starts at $1050.00 per person (quad occupancy), $1150.00 (triple occupancy), $1250.00 (double occupancy), and $1850.00 (single occupancy).

Derby Deals offers both Kentucky Derby tickets and Kentucky Derby packages. Tickets for the 2013 Kentucky Derby range from $68.00 USD to $7012.50 USD. The first three levels of tickets (Derby Infield, Kentucky Derby Parking, and Taste of Derby) are for one ticket, while the other levels are for 2 tickets. Derby Deals packages include tickets for both Oaks and Derby, transportation from your hotel to Churchill Downs and back, 3 nights' accommodations at various local hotels, tickets for Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby, and a round trip shuttle service to and from your hotel for both races. Package prices start at $1266.50 USD and go up to $5465.50 USD.

The Hilton Lexington/Downtown hotel has a package called the Lexington race track package which includes a deluxe king or queen room, a complimentary breakfast for two, free Wi-Fi in the business center, and a complimentary Keeneland racing brochure/schedule. Keeneland is a combination racetrack and Bloodstock sales company located in Lexington, Kentucky. Another noteworthy facet of Keeneland is their large library relative to the sport of horse racing. It contains over 10,000 volumes and a substantial amount of videocassettes plus a large amount of newspaper clippings and photo negatives about horse racing history.
